This is so tiresome

Our community has had so many power outages generator installers are posting ads outside our neighborhood.

These repeated outages are a cause of so much stress. They impact my job as I typically work from home. I have a medical issue and I am heat sensitive. Many of the outages in the hottest months of the year occurred such that power came back on in peak billing hours forcing me to use air conditioning at a time when I typically don’t due to cost. I can no longer use my garage because if I need to go somewhere, I can’t lift my door without the opener. I am constantly worried about food safety. One outage and you can be pretty sure things are fine, but what is safe after repeated cycles of power outages? I am thankful the issue made the news, otherwise I am not sure people would have believed the whole mess.
Still, it was Xcel’s news quite that angered me, specifically their admittance that when they had three outages in August they knew there was a problem. What about all the outages before? Then they came back saying they had fixed the issue…. and literally myself and some other laypeople I discussed the power issues with figured that the problem was a tolerance or setting on the new equipment they had been so proud of installing. I mean if you install new equipment and thing start going poorly, maybe double check what you did prior to causing 2300 homes and businesses this kind of stress for months.
