YES, no one wants another fire, but do we have to put up with outrageous mishandling of an outage?

I received email notification ONE HOUR before shut down. If they sent me an email Friday, as they claim, I want to see evidence of the sent email. I didn't receive it! 2 of my neighbors never received any notification of any kind.

What could have been done differently?

-They could NOT SHUT DOWN THE POWER ON A HOSPITAL!

-They could give Boulder people enough notification to move expensive perishable foods to homes in Lafayette or Longmont, but 1 hour before predicted 100 mph winds is NOT the time to be driving an hour round trip to do so.

-They could NOT make people think the power would be restored by noon the next day when in actuality I know two people who were part of the "planned" outage who went 50 hours without power.

- They could NOT lie about how long the "planned outages" were taking, claiming they were from wind damage when my area of Boulder received barely any wind at all. My trash cans weren't even knocked over by the winds which is a several times a year occurrence at my house.

-They could have started restoring power to areas that had been completely silent with NO wind since 3am Saturday morning when it was clear the weather reports were wrong.

-They could NOT shut down traffic lights on the diagonal highway intersection where people are driving 60 mph.

-They could NOT shut down the power on low income manufactured home parks where people can't afford to throw out spoiled food and depend on heating tape to keep their pipes from freezing when the temperatures were in the 30s that night. Vista Village Manufactured Home park had all their power cut while the Kings Ridge town homes next door were ALL LIT UP.

-Xcel could use their 2023 gross profits of $8.42 billion to hire someone qualified to manage a shut down.
