This could have been handled so much better!
My husband and I were notified just a few hours ahead of time that the power outage was happening, but we were in Denver for the entire day and evening, so there was nothing we could have done in terms of moving the food in our fridge to a cooler. The lack of any real information about outage maps or an accurate time frame was very frustrating. We were lucky to have been able to go to a hotel (my husband uses a CPAP) but the lack of concern from Xcel for those in our community with far more serious health issues and far fewer resources is very worrying. Xcel could and should have handled this entire situation better and with far more compassion towards the more vulnerable members of our community.
