Never Notified Due to Xcel Admin Errors

Never got notified; Xcel had old ph# which I notified them 4yrs ago had changed and person said they had updated their system. Learned about planned shutoff day of, thru NextDoor, and called before shut off to see if I was impacted. Xcel rep stated they could only tell me counties but that no outbound notification call had been made to me (thought I was in the clear, but they were checking on my current cell ph #). Xcel rep told me I could have only 1 way for them to contact me -outrageous! Xcel should be required to notify by ph, text and email and ensure their customer records are current.

What have policy makers and Xcel been doing last 2 yrs after the Marshall fire to develop a better plan to address these situations, which they knew would recur? VZW repeatedly tells me they can't complete calls or 2-3 day delay in getting voice msgs because City of Boulder won't allow them to build enough cell towers. (My friend in PA says VZW tells her the same thing!) Landlines don't work during power outages. How do people get notified? Massive FAILURE by policy makers, legislature, Xcel, VZW and can't leave out Comcast. Anyone checked recently to see how much profit Xcel, VZW, Comcast have been making while delivering unreliable, poor quality service.

Over 1200 people live in my neighborhood in which ALL utilities, including electric, are buried underground. When I asked the Xcel rep why my neighborhood was still included in the planned shutdown despite having underground utilities, they told me that they could still cause a fire even if buried - really? I thought one of the reasons for burying utility lines was to prevent fire.

Another reason hydrogen cars are far better than electric! Imagine not having enough charge in your EV and needing to escape a fire but did not have power due to outage to charge or up to 1 hr waiting time to fully recharge. Pushing EVs is bad for climate, bad for the environment, bad for small business who operate gas stations that could be converted to hydrogen gas stations instead of being forced to close by EV mandates and bad for consumers. Policy makers, stop deceiving the public with EVs and support hydrogen vehicles now.
