Xcel's Outrageous Rate Increase

How is it even remotely possible that my bill has doubled from last month? Your claim that I somehow used 50% more energy is absolutely ridiculous. I am out of my home from 7 AM to after 6 PM, and my thermostat stays at 50 degrees. There is NO scenario where that kind of usage spike makes sense.

When I look at my bill, my peak‑hour usage barely reaches $100. So again where is the rest of this inflated, unjustifiable charge coming from? The numbers don’t match reality, and I refuse to accept vague excuses or scripted answers.

This isn’t just concerning; it’s infuriating. It points to either faulty metering, faulty billing, or systemic overcharging. And given how many other customers are reporting the same outrageous increases on local social media, this is clearly not an isolated incident.

I am demanding that the Public Utilities Commission launch an independent audit of Xcel Energy’s billing system. Enough people are raising red flags that this now looks like a pattern, not a coincidence.

I would like a real explanation, not generic talking points. And I expect this issue to be addressed immediately not pushed off or ignored.
