66 hours (2 3/4 days) without power. WTH
I have lived in/around Denver, Colorado my entire 65 year life. I remember when Excel was called Public Service Company. This area has had many natural disasters in that time: Floods, tornados, hail, huge snowstorms, very high wind storms. I have had power go out numerous times, as expected. However, the longest I have ever had to wait for a fix has been maybe a day and a half (32-36hrs). This last outage was not fixed for nearly 3 days (66 hours). Had I not had a friend willing to lend me a generator to power my fridges, I would have lost $400-$600 in food. I am on Social Security and Medicare. I don't have that kind of money to buy food! A neighbors pine tree blew over and took down the powerline in our neighborhood. Typically a simple fix for Excel. Because of the de-energize/re-energize fiasco that took waaaaay to long, actual damaged powerlines had to wait extra days for Excel to bring back service. It's not enough that Excel has raised our rates through the roof in the last two years, while making HUGE PROFITS, their customer service and ability to fix and respond to problems SUCKS. You can't even call Excel to report a problem. That's what happens when you have a monopoly running utility company. There's no option to switch to another company due to poor, expensive service. The governor needs to fix this problem.
I was a first responder for nearly 35 years. I would have been embarrassed and fired if I operated the way Excel has....
Thank you for allowing me to input my opinion and experience!
